The Art of Visual Friction
"A perfectly smooth interface is easy to ignore. A little friction forces us to pay attention."
Modern design is obsessed with removing friction. We want pages that load in milliseconds, buttons that predict our clicks, and layouts that require zero thought to navigate.
But when you remove all friction, you also remove all memory. A smooth, frictionless experience is forgotten the moment the tab is closed. Beautiful typography, generous white space, and unexpected layouts create a subtle friction that invites the reader to slow down and actually read.
Do not build interfaces that are meant to be ignored. Build spaces that demand presence, attention, and a moment of quiet reflection.
