The Cost of Speed

"Moving fast is easy: moving in the right direction requires you to slow down."

We are obsessed with speed. We want faster build tools, faster deployments, and faster feedback loops. We believe that velocity is the ultimate metric of engineering success.

But speed is dangerous without direction. Moving quickly often leads to architectural shortcuts, poorly understood code, and rapid rewrites. You end up building the wrong thing faster.

Slowing down your design process allows you to anticipate edge cases, write cleaner code, and build structures that do not require constant patching. The fastest way to finish a project is to do it slowly, once.
